AAS in Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography

Diagnostic medical imaging, like Radiography (X-Ray), has become an increasingly popular field for those interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. X-Ray Techs, also called Radiography Techs, use radiologic technology to create images of bones and other structures inside the body. They work with patients to prepare them for the procedure and work with X-Ray equipment to ensure that the images are clear and accurate.

X-Ray technologists typically have an associate's degree in radiologic technology, and most states require licensure and/or certification.

MCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography degree program is programmatically recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification. ARRT Certification provides eligibility to obtain a professional license in radiography in the state of Illinois and the neighboring states of Indiana and Wisconsin.

Curriculum

The curriculum of MCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Imaging Radiography program uses the recommendations and guidelines set forth by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), and by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
