Medical Assistants play a vital role in the health care field today. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (B.L.S.), medical assistant employment is expected to grow by 19% from 2019–2029. 1 A career as a medical assistant provides incredible variety and a chance to make a real difference in the lives of others. Answering patient questions about administering medication, collecting lab specimens, inputting basic medical billing and software information, understanding medical insurance coding are some of the important tasks required of medical assistants in doctors’ offices, hospitals, and clinics.
